THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION Screening Event | Hauberg Museum

September 25 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am CDT

Rock Island, IL – Join WQPT PBSÕs local screenings and discussion panels that will raise our regionÕs awareness of THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION, a new six-part, 12-hour documentary directed by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein, and David Schmidt that examines the history of AmericaÕs founding. In addition to discussing the excerpts from the documentary, these local screenings will include discussions of the often-overlooked history of the role our Quad City community played as the location of the western-most battle of the war.

The members of the discussion panel will include local authors, historians, teachers, and Johnathan Buffalo, Historical Preservation Director of the Meskwaki Nation, Sac and Fox Tribe of the Mississippi in Iowa. The screening and discussion panel will be followed by the opportunity to tour The Hauberg Museum (located in the west end of Watch Tower Lodge) which tells the story of the Sauk and Meskwaki people through interpretive maps and artifacts.
