The Gulfport Historical Society Presents THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION

The Gulfport Historical Society in partnership with Mississippi Public Broadcasting on Thursday November 13, 2025 at 6:00 pm will host a special pre-screening of the new Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein, and David Schmidt documentary, THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION. As a growing historical society, the organization is dedicated to preserving and exhibiting the history of Gulfport while fostering a deeper appreciation for local, state, and national history. Gulfport’s unique heritage as home to a Navy base underscores the city’s patriotic spirit, with citizens from diverse backgrounds proudly serving in the armed forces. The screening will provide residents an opportunity to come together, reflect on America’s founding, and engage in meaningful discussion about the nation’s history and its continued relevance today. This event will highlight the story of our nation’s struggle for independence and also connect it to Gulfport’s ongoing legacy of service and sacrifice. The event is free and open to the public.
