April 29 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm EDT

Watch The American Revolution at the Texas State Library and Archives
What: A 50-minute showing of excerpts from Ken Burns’ film The American Revolution, focusing on military history
About the series: Thirteen American colonies unite in rebellion, win an eight-year war to secure their independence, and establish a new form of government that would inspire democratic movements at home and around the globe.
When: Wednesday April 29 at noon in the second-floor event space at the Lorenzo de Zavala State Archives and Library Building, 1201 Brazos Street. Free.
Texas America250 exhibit: After the screening, make sure to check out our 2026 lobby exhibit, Texas America250. The new exhibit spotlights some of the areas where Texans’ contributions shine especially bright—true Texas icons that remind all Americans of the 28th state. From cowboys to astronauts, from Beaumont to Big Bend, the country would not be what it has become without Texas.
