WNIT Presents: The American Revolution at the Museum Campus A Free Public Event Celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary

March 26 @ 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm EDT

WNIT Presents: The American Revolution at the Museum Campus A Free Public Event Celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary South Bend, IN — The Studebaker National Museum and The History Museum are proud to join WNIT in presenting a special afternoon program exploring the enduring legacy of the American Revolution. The event takes place Wednesday, March 26 at 1:30pm at the Museum Campus, and is free and open to the public. Organized as part of a year-long national celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, the program offers guests a rare combination of film, scholarship, and rare artifacts — all in one afternoon. The event will feature a screening of selected segments from Ken Burns’ acclaimed documentary The American Revolution, which examines the ideas, conflicts, and sacrifices that gave birth to the United States. The screening will be followed by two expert presentations: The History Museum’s Archivist, Travis Childs, will offer a talk on local Revolutionary War veterans, and Studebaker National Museum Curator, Kyle Sater, will explore the Museum’s surprising connection to Revolutionary War hero the Marquis de Lafayette. Guests will also have the opportunity to view Lafayette’s Barouche — the oldest vehicle in the Studebaker Collection. The carriage was commissioned by the U.S. Government for the French general’s celebrated Farewell Tour of America in 1824, making it one of the most historically significant objects in the region. Registration is not required, but space is limited so we encourage you to pre-register at the event registration link:https://historymuseumsb.app.neoncrm.com/np/clients/historymuseumsb/eventRegistration.jsp?event=6138&.
