Better Together: Celebrating U.S.
Better Together: Celebrating U.S. will provide guests with experiences to deepen their civic engagement and learn about what makes US and our communities thrive. The day will include screenings and thematic discussions around THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION, an exhibit about women’s suffrage, Revolutionary War trivia mini golf, collaborative art pieces, citizenship test games, viewings of WFYI local productions about civics and democracy, reaction walls, quilt heritage talks, indigenous storytelling, and ways to be neighborly. There may even be American rabbits, exploring what is means to be “American.” Attendees may choose their path through the activities from a Civics Bucket List.
The event will include engagement opportunities for adults and children of all ages. Everyone will receive a list of take-home materials and action items to help make a difference in our democracy including local resources, voter registration information, and how to connect with organizations that can deepen their learning.
