American Revolution Screening and Beginners Genealogy Workshop

Discover the history of the United States while exploring your own family history. In celebration of the new film The American Revolution, GPB has teamed up with AAHGS to offer an African American Genealogy workshop for beginners. Do you want to document your African American family’s story, but don’t know how to start? This workshop for beginners presented by Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society, Inc., Metro Atlanta Chapter will familiarize participants with African American Genealogy research tools and practices. Six sessions will be offered with a Q&A session at the end. Additionally, participants will complete family group sheets and maternal/paternal pedigree charts. Plus, you’ll see clips from the upcoming film The American Revolution before it airs November 16! Light breakfast and lunch provided. Seating is limited and registration is required. Afterward, participants are invited to attend an AAHGS chapter meeting. This meeting will include a panel discussion highlighting chapter members who have researched their ancestors prior to 1800 and members from the Daughters of the American Revolution.
