Building a New World

WUCF’s America250 Initiative invites families to Building a New World: from the American Revolution to City Island featuring an interactive event with Emmy-winning animator Aaron Augenblick, creator of PBS KIDS’ City Island. Aaron will show clips from City Island and discuss how it promotes civics and community engagement. Then, attendees will join Aaron in designing new “helpers” inspired by the young people who shaped our nation. Afterwards families will have the opportunity to experience how young people lived in the 18th century through hands-on activities and a special family screening of Ken Burns’ The American Revolution. This event will explore what it means to build and care for a community — past, present, and future.
