Transcribe-a-thon with Springdale Public Library

Join Arkansas TV, the Arkansas Center for the Book at the Arkansas State Library, and the Springdale Public Library for a free, hands-on Transcribe-a-Thon connected to the documentary series, The American Revolution, a film by by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein, and David Schmidt and the Library of Congress’s By the People project. The event will open with a short preview from The American Revolution, followed by guided training on how to read and transcribe 18th-century letters, diaries, and printed documents. Participants will then work together to help make original Revolutionary-era records searchable and accessible for future generations. No prior experience is required, training and support will be provided throughout the event. Lunch will be provided. This event is open to adults, students, educators, and anyone interested in history, civic engagement, or hands-on learning.
